The mango on your plate traveled thousands of miles. Do you know where it started? We do — and we’ll tell you.

Most Indian mangoes sold in the US pass through four or five hands before reaching you — an exporter, a consolidator, a wholesaler, a retailer, a delivery service. At every handoff, accountability blurs and traceability breaks. Swadeshi Central TX LLC does it differently: we’re the direct importer of record AND the distributor to your doorstep. One company, one FSVP, one traceability record, one phone number if something’s wrong. You get the variety you’re paying for, from the region it’s supposed to come from.

Importer AND Distributor. One company, not four.
Most Indian mangoes in the US change hands four or five times between farm and doorstep. Ours change hands once.

Why Our Mangoes Are Different

1. Premium Varieties from Traditional Indian Regions

We import premium Indian mango varieties from their traditional growing regions — Banginapalli from Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, Alphonso (Hapus) from Ratnagiri-Devgad, Maharashtra, Gir Kesar from Junagadh, Gujarat, and others. When the harvest aligns, we ship varieties that hold official GI (Geographical Indication) tags from the Government of India. Other shipments feature heirloom varieties from their traditional regions that can taste even sweeter and richer depending on the season — varieties most US sellers never carry. Either way, you get fruit selected for flavor and provenance, not by what the wholesale chain happens to dump.

2. We Know Exactly Where Every Shipment Comes From

For each harvest we import, we have records of the specific farm and region. No anonymous “sourced from India” claims — we can name the district, the packhouse, and the harvest window.

3. Complete Farm-to-Customer Traceability

Every shipment can be tracked from the originating APEDA-registered farm, through the NPPO-certified packhouse, through a dual-step safety protocol — a hot water fungicidal dip (52°C, 3–4 minutes, targeting anthracnose and other surface pathogens) followed by USDA-APHIS Cobalt-60 irradiation (per 7 CFR 305) — through DFW and IAH (Houston) international airports, and all the way to your doorstep in Texas.

4. FDA FSVP-Compliant Importer

Unlike many resellers, we are FDA FSVP-compliant — operating under the Foreign Supplier Verification Program required by the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). We don’t outsource foreign supplier verification to third parties; we maintain those records ourselves so every mango we sell can be traced back to a vetted orchard and packhouse. Most casual Indian-grocery resellers skip this step or outsource it.

5. Beyond Just a Variety Name

Many sellers stop at “Alphonso” or “Kesar” on the label. We publish origin, harvest source, packhouse, import clearance dates, and irradiation certification — the information a serious mango buyer actually needs.

6. Direct Importer AND Distributor — One Company, Not Four

Most Indian mangoes in the US pass through four or five hands between the farm and your doorstep: an Indian exporter, a US consolidator, a wholesaler, a retailer, a delivery service. At every handoff, accountability blurs. Ours pass through one company. Swadeshi Central TX LLC is the importer of record, the distributor to your door, the name on the box, and the phone number if something’s wrong. A Texas-registered LLC with a verifiable business identity and an FSVP on file with the FDA. Not a dropship middleman. Not an anonymous reshipper. One accountable business, farm to doorstep. If your order doesn’t meet our freshness standards, we don’t point fingers at shippers — we fix it ourselves.

Verified by a Food Safety Expert

I didn’t just want to move boxes — I wanted to move the safest, highest-quality fruit possible. We operate as an FDA FSVP-compliant importer under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), which means I personally vet every orchard, every packhouse, and every shipment record. Frequently Asked Questions

What does FDA FSVP compliance mean?

FSVP stands for Foreign Supplier Verification Program. Under FDA’s Food Safety Modernization Act, importers of food into the US must verify that their foreign suppliers meet the same food safety standards required of domestic producers. Swadeshi Mangoes maintains a compliant FSVP with documented supplier verification for every shipment.

Which of your mango varieties have GI tags?

Three of our varieties hold official GI (Geographical Indication) tags from the Government of India: Alphonso (Hapus) — GI of Maharashtra, Banginapalli — GI of Andhra Pradesh, and Gir Kesar — GI of Gujarat. We cross-reference our suppliers’ Production Unit Codes (PUC) with APEDA’s GI registry to ensure regional authenticity. Our other varieties — Himayath (Imam Pasand), Chinna Rasalu, Suvarna Rekha, and Totapuri — are heirloom varieties from their traditional regions but do not currently hold GI status.

How do your mangoes enter the US?

Our mangoes ship from APEDA-registered farms through NPPO-certified packhouses in India, undergo a hot water fungicidal dip followed by USDA-APHIS Cobalt-60 irradiation treatment (per 7 CFR 305), and enter the US through Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Houston (IAH) international airports. Every shipment is covered by our FDA FSVP and arrives within 4-5 days of harvest.

Where is Swadeshi Mangoes located?

Swadeshi Mangoes operates as Swadeshi Central TX LLC, a Texas-registered limited liability company based in Round Rock, Texas. We deliver to 30+ pickup locations across Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio through our network of local pickup agents.

How is Swadeshi different from Indian grocery store mangoes?

Most Indian grocery stores receive mangoes through multi-layer wholesale channels — they don’t import directly and often can’t verify the exact farm, region, or harvest date. We are the direct importer of record AND the distributor. One company handles every step from Indian orchard to your Texas doorstep, with full documentation at every point.
